I guess I've been lucky
My 2015 Volt has never had a problem. Even a nail in the tire stayed put long enough to reach a garage and get a fix. But all of the older cars I've owned required contingency planning.

Tough question. I would go for an analog. The charm of driving a good old car is inimitable. I think if utility if your main criteria, then digital is your world. If not, analog is your world.
