I saw them regular. The car has it’s roots as Scirocco. Later on the model was again Scirocco.

Yes, i know the fist Scirocco of seeing them on the roads a long time ago. The second generation of the Scirocco was in the time, the VW Santana was sold in Europe. I always loved the sister from Porsche, the transaxle Porsches 928, 914, 944. Regret that ... 

With some aftermarket parts you could make it a unique car . Never owned one as they were a bit to expensive for me .

I believe that the Scirocco was first released in the US in about 1975. I saw it then at the local VW dealer. It was very cool - Italian flair with a German foundation. I went on and bought a brand new one in 1977. It was my first new car. I ran that one ... 

Woah! The machismo in this one!!!!!

This one I still own it. Possibly the heaviest and slowest VW gti ever produced. But I love her so much. Besides, my daughters don't allow me to get rid of it! The nineties! ...  

And I do not know what to do with her. Those machines will soon be not allowed to access town over here!

I remember: 50 in 1st 85 in 2nd 140 in 3rd 200 in 4th So veeery long gearing going to third the revs dropped too much and the fun was over. As for the 16v the car was too heavy. The only option was the VR6 ... and tuned to 230 hp that must have been amazi...
