Nice memory lane!
My uncle restored from ground up TA's and a 'racing' TC in his home garage. I remember him fabricating new ash frames from raw timber. Later he had a chrome bumper MGB (GT?) as a daily run around too. My other uncle had a 50's TF whilst in Paris that attracted kids to jump on the running boards for a ride - drove him crazy! A pal had the 2000's TF that eventually rattled itself to death on rural Scottish roads - great mid engine balance around corners and he learnt how to drive 'properly' in that car.
