The Colorado weather can turn on a dime

 

We can have a snow storm, and hit the 60s and 70s a few days after with all snow gone. So I do ride in the winter when the opportunities present. Unfortunately, we have seen 2 fallen riders within 2 miles of my home this year. The first one I saw with my son, it really was harrowing. A pair of black boots sticking up from under a white sheet surrounded by fire fighters. The helmet was 50' away, the large Harley battered and laying down. The second, my wife and daughter came across a week ago. And there is nothing particularly dangerous on this roadway so I am not sure how they happened. My biggest fear when I ride is animals crossing out unexpectedly, I quite frequently see deer and wild turkeys on my routes. Here is my machine. It handles extremely, and is super torque-y.

Your scenery is very inviting to two-wheeled adventures! I wonder how the driving position is on the Griso.. unusual probably. I had to ride my KTM under the rain today :-(

Riding position of the griso is quite traditional, slightly inclined and with widish bars. Legs quite up which helps cornering angles. It’s a mega comfortable bike. You can ride forever without any issue. The street on the other hand is unique to say the ...

I was expecting a very comfy riding position on my Adventure 1090R but my arms are held a little too high... I might need to get used to it, or make some adjustments

If it does not become natural some small adjustments might do a big difference for the better. Take care!

Got a nice 2 hour ride in last Saturday with my lightweight jacket. I have a medium textile and then the heavy leather for cold duty. As long as it is mid 40s or better, I get out there. Lately, I have considered retiring from 2 wheels and adding 4 new on... 

I'm teetering, but leaning for sure

Here, it becomes brutal when it drops around 0 Celsius. When it comes to retiring from 2 wheels, I can imagine this will happen eventually one day, but I hope we can all delay it as much as reasonably possible. Enjoy!

I hear about the accidents. They are everywhere and if someone starts thinking about family and all, it is a killer argument for stopping. Since we got kids, my wife stopped riding period. And I am mostly doing short rides these days to keep the batteries...
