We can have a snow storm, and hit the 60s and 70s a few days after with all snow gone. So I do ride in the winter when the opportunities present.
Unfortunately, we have seen 2 fallen riders within 2 miles of my home this year. The first one I saw with my son, it really was harrowing. A pair of black boots sticking up from under a white sheet surrounded by fire fighters. The helmet was 50' away, the large Harley battered and laying down. The second, my wife and daughter came across a week ago. And there is nothing particularly dangerous on this roadway so I am not sure how they happened. My biggest fear when I ride is animals crossing out unexpectedly, I quite frequently see deer and wild turkeys on my routes.
Here is my machine. It handles extremely, and is super torque-y.
