You're correct, aluminum heads. Keeping any flash out of the engine wasn't difficult at all. I first cleaned out any oil sitting on top then plugged the few openings with rags. Then I coated everything with a thin coat of fresh oil to hold onto anything

 

Since I didn't have to drill all the way through the head, there wasn't any worry of it getting inside. I then used a shop vac with a funnel on the end to suck everything out, followed by again wiping out any oil and whatever flash still remained using brake clean. I was careful to look very closely with a bright light to be sure I left nothing behind.
