You reminded me of a Lotus test drive also perhaps in the 80's
It was an Esprit with a Ford SHO (Yamaha) engine stuffed in back. The car crapped out and we walked about 2 miles back to the store... salesman asked if that would put me off buying it.

What vehicle prompted that clever comment? I've looked at some early Broncos (or were they International Scouts?) where the seat was already pushed fully back and the
steering wheel was in a position that would only allow an anorexic 90 lb man to fit in it... and he would probably need extremely short arms!

I guess our kids are already too large to put them in the back but a nice option to have with smaller children 😊

The only time I drove a Lotus was in the early 80's when I took a test drive of one I was considering buying, whilst on said test drive a front wheel fell off when going round a corner thankfully it wasn't at speed. No I didn't end up buying it after that...
