Breguet

Breguet 5307 advice please

Hi,

I'm looking at the Breguet 5307 possibly as my first Tourbillon.  I've run the search for this here and have read all of them and I'm hoping to get updated feedback from current owners and from those who may have sold this, why did you sell it?

The regulator dial is simple and elegant in typical Breguet style to me.  What really catches me is when you look at the back.  The engravings, total visibility of all the mechanical intricacies of the movement and the really exquisite movement has really left an impression in me.  If the front is simple and understated elegance, the magnifiscence of the detail from the sapphire case back is outstanding and nearing sheer opulence.

I read one of the posts in another thread that the movement in the 5307 is possibly the best for a tourbillon.  Not sure why this is and would appreciate some insights on this.

I am also told that if looking at a Tourbillon, one should defnitely consider a piece from Breguet, the founder of the tourbillon and one can;t go far wrong.

Ths particular model features a self winding rotor and I am told that is not how "traditional" tourbillons are and hence it may detract as a "real" tourbillon.  For me, I am open to this and the rotor on this with the Breguet "B" carved out is simply stunning.

Please share your views and experiences and any other info that will help this horologerie novice choose.

Thanks.
