Breguet

Breguet Ref. 3237 Classique Chronograph

Hi Cabizaid,

Welcome to the forums. I was hoping some of our members would have direct experience with this model, but I will make some general comments as a Breguet owner (a YG La Tradition in my case).

I love Breguet for their history and design aesthetic which carries through most of the watches. You can recognize a Breguet easily on someone's wrist. The 3237 at 36x10.6mm is a classic (pardon the pun) manual wind dress chronograph and I love the single 30 min totalizer. You get the signature guilloche silvered gold dial and blued Breguet hands. The movement is a Cal 533.2 based on the Nouvelle Lemania 2393 (21 jewels, 18000 vph, 48h PR) which is widely used in high end chronographs from the period (eg. Vacheron Constantin, Patek Philippe). This chronograph has evolved into the Ref. 5237 which is a little larger at 37mm and has a screw on back.

Like any used watch, you need to trust the seller/dealer and know a little about the provenance of the watch. Unless there is a service history, you should consider that a service will be required sometime in the near future. Personally I was very happy with Breguet during a recent service of my 5 year old La Tradition, so I shouldn't have any concern in that regard.

We don't discuss dealer discounts and street prices on the open forum, but there is always room to negotiate! Use your favorite Search Engine to get an idea of prices.

Good luck and let us know if you get this lovely piece.

Regards

Andrew
