Long time listener. First time poster. Picked up a new piece for a special occasion: the Cartier Tank Louis Cartier Large Automatic in yellow gold (Ref. WGTA0357) . I wrestled with the Medium options — quartz in YG or manual in RG — but in the end, yellow...  

Thanks for that. The Tank is such a strange watch. A large Tank — agnostic of its historical proportions — arguably more ideal for medium/larger wrists from a ratio perspective. However, it's always been a historically smaller watch that bucks proportion ...

I definitely like it behind the wrist bone. Not wrong that it might have slid a quarter inch up when I took the pic. I wear it slightly loose.

As others have already said it's your watch and so only what your eyes and taste dictate is right for you and what you feel comfortable with that matters. Wear and enjoy it in good health. Marc

Appreciate that! Definitely not 48mm. Ha. For round watches, I'm a 38-39mm kind of guy.

Appreciate that. While larger than originally desired, I have to admit I am really enjoying the automatic movement. Best of both worlds — a mechanical movement without a battery to worry about, but the watch is ready to go most mornings like a quartz. Ha.... 

list, but I am leaning toward the quartz version, haven't had a quartz watch in years and am willing to give one a try again. May look at tthe Solar Beat.

I have ~7” wrist too and recently tried this model, it fits better than the medium (2nd pic) ...  

It looks fantastic on your wrist. I think Cartier did a wonderful job at keeping the dimensions true to the TLC’s character, even for a size 38. I’m leaning heavily cowards this exact watch for my next purchase. Enjoy it in good health.
