Cartier

I did a 'double take' when I read your announcement

Geo,

Thanks for the heads-up.

"I thot I saw a puddy tat..."

I did, I did...actually, I saw 'Denver Art Museum' and had to check if there was a Denver in Australia. smile

"Struth! There's already a South Wales back in Britain so what will we call it here? New South Wales.

Just joking but Canberra is a bit like that. A made up city to act as capital of Australia in 1913, as a compromise to the fight between Melbourne and Sydney gaining advantage, it is home to only 400,000 people. Many are politicians, legislature, and affluent people to run the country. The National Museum, National Gallery, National Library, Australian National University, Royal Australian Mint, Australian Institute of Sport, Royal Military College, and the Australian Defence Force Academy are all here. That's a lot of rich and famous people. Many of them work in Canberra but go home to the big cities for the weekends.

Cartier had to show at the National Gallery for such an important exhibition and it makes sense because they get access to the rich and famous from all the big cities who work in Canberra anyway.

It's a good thing and the Cartier pieces will be stunning.

Regards,

MTF
