any idea on value? it was worn by my mother a few times then put away for 40 years! in great condition a little patina on the hands and back thank you

A good friend and Cartier expert has told me that he suspects the watch is not an original. I'd suggest you bring it to a Cartier service centre for a definitive answer. - SJX

the back does look a little fishie, what if the movement is signed and is a cartier?

Even if the movement is real, the external parts could be fake. - SJX
