I have always liked the Cartier Rotonde Jour et Nuit (day and night), a model from the discontinued CPCP series. When the model was changed into a tonneau shape about three years ago, I tried to bid for the rotonde version (albeit unsuccessfully) in a 200...

So how do you read the time on this one? I am not eh brightest tool in the shed. Sure is beautiful, though. I am glad you were able to get one. It lloks great on your wrist. respo

The position of the sun shows the hour (yes, you can only guess) so the time indicated is 4:28 pm. As the mortif rotates, the sun moves from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, at which point the moon appears on the other side. The art deco engraving for the moon is a bi... 

Thanks for explaining it. I would think that one of the nice perks of this method of time telling is that it forces you to stare at the beautiful dial just a little bit longer than might otherwise be the case -- not a bad thing at all in this instance. re...
