CHRONO ONE - is it a ground breaker?
What is interesting about the presentation by Fredrick was that he reminded all at the Chopard Dinner Launch of the Chrono One that there had only been a handful of new chrono movements being launched over the past few decades. In comparison with the development of several types of tourbillons (I guess he meant the double triple axis etc) which is a hallowed complication, there had been little technological development over the years where Chronos are concerned. The Chrono One has several patents to its name and I am sure others more learned about the watch is able to share the details of the special features (do a Google and you can find several sites reporting its achievements).
What is curious though is that there are several collectors have intimated that they would have preferred a manual winding movement for a chrono instead of the automatic 60 hr reserve. I am ambivalent about this but a manual movement would probably have been more interesting movement viewing.
For me, the open subdial, while brings a new aesthetic design change, it makes the watch quite difficult to read - esp with the overlapping markers. I have to admit that I am a classicalists and would prefer a more subtle dial.

Cheers
