I compared it with my 45 mm case Chopard Superfast Chrono watch
Friends,
I broke my own rules and tried the new 46 mm Mille Miglia XL 2016 Race Edition on my wrist. (I never try a watch unless I'm buying it; now look what YOU made me do)
Taking off my 45 mm Superfast Chrono, the new watch was strapped on.
I have Chinese genes and am only 176 cm (5ft 9in) tall. Actually, possibly shorter in my old age than when I was measured by the police.....
First, I mention the new strap which is very soft to the touch but tough to resist abrasions and water damage. I've been told it will look better with further "distress".
That is important because the strap comfort allows perfect adjustment tension on-the-wrist. That means the wearer does not have to struggle to crush his wrist in order to keep the watch case centred....part of the reason why large watches may look "odd".
The watch actually looked smaller that the Superfast Chrono!?!
I think that was because of three reasons:
The short, curved lugs allow the Mille Miglia XL 2016 Race Edition to 'mould' to my wrist laying flatter.
The curved 'vintage' case shape and rounded bezels make it not only look smaller but actually is smaller. Maximal width measurements taken in one plane are not representative of how the watch looks and feels.
The black colour and vintage motifs allows the watch to blend into the wrist.
I was surprised.
You will be too.....

MTF
