L.U.C - Sincere Master Dinner Part II with a new (Tech) Twist
23 October 2008 7pm, Singapore - Blu at Shangri-La Hotel
This post will be supplementing the wonderful post by Decksurgeon at chopard.watchprosite.com
Arrived on time about 7pm and was greeted by the Sincere Team.
While some of guests were having their cocktail outside the restaurant bar, went in to the restaurant to have a peek.....
Arr..Mr Daniel Bolognesi was setting the on-screen magnifier.
Hmm...he should be showing some interesting components.
A short important note about Mr Daniel Bolognesi, Head of Watchmaking.
He is one of the pioneer who started the L.U.C in 1996 with Mr Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, the Co-President of Chopard.
He is the person in-charged of the development of the genesis base-movement of the L.U.C, the Calibre L.U.C 1.96 .
Prior to joining Chopard, he worked in Patek Philippe handling R & D, after which he left and taught in the School of Watch-making of Geneva and subsequently was offered by Mr Karl-Friedrich Scheufele the challenge of setting and growing a startup.
Another marvellous and man-of-few-word, who believes in action more than words. Just wish to have more time with him.
I think many collectors and watch-enthusiasts feel the same too.

The Master WatchMaker steady hands ....
In full concentration and focus ...
Left him to finetune his preparation ... and have a look at the set up ...

This picture was from the other end of the room ( entrance was opposite) ...
2 columns of long tables were set up. Total of 3 LCD monitors were positioned so that every guests could view the presentation.

The table setting ... with guest's placard.

Maxime Labey (Managing Director of Chopard Asia) with his team was also ensuring the AV system was ready ...
Wine glass signed with Sincere Watch logo ...
Still checking & testing...
Now going through his presentation
A few watches on display ... including 2 unique pieces of tourbillon with exquisite paintings.
Check out Decksurgeon's post to see the watches.

A view from the entrance side ...

This was the view of Singapore Skyline from this restaurant on 24th Floor ...
Beautiful LunarOne.
The elegant Regulators.
Serene & Lauren of Sincere Watch.
Got out of the dining area and crossed over to the bar ... some guests were having drinks and mingling ...
A nice pic with the L.U.C (Bee) emblem ...with two L.U.C owners and friends.
More guests at the other end of the bar...
(L-R) Patrick Tan, Head of Sincere Watch Academy, Russell, George, Tat and Daniel Bolognesi.
About 7:50pm, guests were seated.....
Some of the guests attending ....
At about 8:08pm, Patrick welcome the guests and introduced the Chopard L.U.C executives...
Guests listening ....

After which both Daniel and Maxime did a joint presentation on the L.U.C Tourbillons....
This slide displayed the
tourbillons manufactured and also signaled a new tourbillon will be
coming in the year 2010... the 150th anniversary of Chopard. Nothing
was disclosed, should be something interesting to commermorate the
anniversary.
After the short 15 minutes presentation, dinner commenced accompanied by the soothing tunes of the harpist ...
In between more conversations ... hmm...it was about watches and the current financial climate ...

David Chan, Marketing Director of Sincere in deep discussion with a guest.
Benjamin Lim, the cool Sincere Executive in-charge-of Retails, with a yet-to-arrive current year's Sincere Edition of Tech Twist in Rose Gold!
A cropped close-up of the coming Sincere Edition Tech Twist...
Why was he picking up a leave?
To conclude the event .... the restaurant introduced the ENCORE-dish ...flowers, leaves and soil !
Look at those faces...staring in disbelief. "What the h%#@ is that?" " You mean I got to eat it before allow to leave?"

Some gutsy ones demonstrating the "Art of Eating Grass, Flowers and Soil " .....
A closeup of eating the leave ...
A novelty (to me) ....the leaves and soil were chocolate while the flowers were candy-floss. Very real...well done Blu !
Before ending the night ...
Some group pics ...
A short of DeckSurgeon ...
Some still in engaging conversation ...
Thanks to Chopard and Sincere Watch for the wonderful night.
