Short of growing their own quartz crystals (and that is a specialist job), LUC seems to have taken true manufacturing further back in the process to smelting their OWN precious metals??!?!

Chopard Factory Visit, Part 1
Back in last summer, July 2008 ( just before the watchmaking holidays), I was thrilled to be invited by Chopard L.U.C to visit the plants in Geneva and Fleurier. The plan was to visit the Geneva plant on first day followed by Fleurier (in Val-de-Travers)....
