Firstly congratulation to both your Happy Sport.  No worries if you are beginner or not, as everyone of us starts from somewhere.  Glad to see you joined and posted in our forum, and shared the pics of your Happy Sport 278250 with us.

Starting with your first question ...
Chopard people could be returning from their summer break this week, so you may hear from them later.
For most watch websites, if they have started long ago, but now, they will have many models.  Most of the site will tend to show more current collections.

Please let me know what information you require for your watch 278250-3022, I may have the info.

Next, about your Dad's case, well, you have company. (Perhaps your dad is different from mine) Since young was preprogrammed that Rolex and Mercedes are the ultimate.  Not saying they are not good and the Rollies are really robust. But at their time, these are the prevalent brands and they also don't look out for other choices.

However, there are alternative luxury when I started to search.  My 'taste' is also different and also more of a contrarian. I prefer brands which are NOT preferred by the mass. Thus, follow your heart and liking, as you are the one wearing the watch and looking at it, perhaps daily for a while.

For some, they buy because they like the watches, in term of both form and function ( aesthetic & movement attributes).  But some will wonder about the secondary market value - how much they will get back if they sell the watch. In our forum, we focus on the appreciation of watches and work done.  

Thus no discussion on the resell prices or even investment value.  I believe there are other better investment vehicles and watches are meant to be enjoyed.
