1-2-3 three "golf" small pocket watches

hi my friends here,

so sorry for not being in touch with all of you for more than a month time as i have been occupied by a number of stuff. having said that, my vintage JLC collection has not been stopped!

as you remember and follow my previous posts, two months ago I received my "first "gold" small pocket watch," since then i have tried to look for more pieces of this kind, perhaps this small pocket watch is still understated and uncommon to most people out there, not many people were joining me the bid on these two watches, but it is somehow good for me. at the end of the auction, i got them at reasonable price level compared with those well-known models, e.g. Geophysic, Geomatic, and Memovox, their prices have been kept up so much!

back to the story here, in the last two months i have managed to find two these small pocket watches, the second one has very similar dial layout like my first one that also is a French version with "FABRIQUE EN SUISSE" printed below the Jaeger Lecoultre under at 12 o'clock. the one difference is the hour markers that is in roman front. both have the same very beautiful heat-blue hands. reading from to their movement numbers, both were made in very close years which the production year is around 1936-37. yes, another difference is the leather frame, the first one was blue, but the second one is reddish brown.

one interesting thing in this second small pocket watch is that a very long and fancy silver chain is attached along with the watch, this fancy chain has a number of small thing, i.e. hammer, scissors, trumpet, etc. you can look at the pics below, i am sure you will find it interesting too. i just wonder how the owner carried it together the with the watch as they altogether are very heavy and and also what was the purpose, perhaps it was only for fun and decorative purpose!

for my third small pocket watch, actually i like most as i find it very much uncommon compared with my first two watches with the following reasons:

1) "LeCoultre" printed on the dial, it is the US version compared with my first two of European version, in fact, like those "golf" small pocket watches owned by Clavi are also European version only. to my knowledge i have never seen this US version before. from the quality of the dial, i am sure it is original. inside the watch, the movement has "LeCoultre" engraved on it, and the "LeCoultre" mark is also engraved inside of the caseback which is consistent;

2) according to the movement number, this third watch was produced few years "earlier" than that of my first two watches (366xx vs 861xx);

3) the dial is in black color and has "BAFICO" printed on the dial. i have tried to search what this word meant, but in vain. hope experts out there can give insight of this word meant, hopefully by then we can know some hidden history of the production of this particular watch;

4) the dial has 12-3-6-9 arabic numeric hour markers, i found one of the small pocket watches owned by Clavi also has the same front like mine, but mine is US version compared with the European version that Clavi owned.

5) the watch like my other two watches also have leather frame, but this one is with brown color that makes some distinction compared with the other two!

anyway, without further ado, sharing some pics of these three watches here, hope you also like it. thanks.

stefan
