1960's GMT 1675 serial number/case back intrigue
Hi folks,
I'm still trying to educate myself in my search for a 1675 or '60s Explorer I.
The learning curve is steep!
I've found a 1675 with serial number on the case (between the lugs) reading 1,4xx,xxx
I'm told the caseback stamp (on the inside) is 1963.
I've seen five different charts indicating five different dates for this serial number (jeepers!).
I've seen 1960, 1964, 1965, 1966 and 1969!
Dial is glossy, gilt, small hand. Crown guards (I think) are pointed.
I'm told the movement is 1560, the older one.
Can anyone help?

1.4xx xxx is not corresponding to 1963.
In my book, it is more about 1966 than '63. Maybe the case back has been changed at some time of the life of the watch? I would pass on it. Best, Nicolas

It all depends on what you've seen, these last years. This number is more appropriate with your year. Which is the quartal, by the way? I, II, III or IV / 63? You're at the very very end of '63, early 64 with such a number. That doesn't seem incoherent, t...
