A FABULOUS VINTAGE CAR !
Once again another post on Nicolas' P1800 .
More than ever before, vintage cars are gaining interest. Personally because i'm in my middle 40ies and people in their middle 40ies tend to revive their childhood dreams ... driving old boring cars (they seem boring to young people at least) , reading and collecting old stuff like toy cars, comic books and other useless stuff, midlife-crisis-ish ... .
Classic cars are going up in value too, these last 5 years cars like the 911, P1800, Ferraris .... preferably build before 1980 have gone up in value, some up to 100 % ... more rare and really unique cars like a Ferrari 250 GTO haven't got any limits anymore ... up to 50,000,000 USD !
The GOOD thing about this is the fact that these oldtimers get more attention and more are being restored, more events are held so the proud owners can showcase their babies and the spectators and car-lovers are really spoiled

.... .If you happen to be the proud owner of a classic car the fun is complete .... you get to drive a piece of history, you get a feeling that is unique compared to our modern soulless cars ... . In my case if you have a lot of good friends telling you to drive their cars whenever you want .... ... it's something i gladly accept .... says the guy that used to hate 911's during the first 10 years of this millennium ....

Once at my driveway i didn't really know what to think ....
That's quite some diversity ... but ....
... these 3 cars have one thing in common, actually the most important thing about a car .... driving-pleasure .... each one in his own way .... the modern Clio for it's sheer responsiveness, the 911 because of the relative brutality of the flat six and the P1800 has a very sweet two litre engine with an amazing sound and a fantastic driving-feel ... you really feel like Simon Templar.
Looking at the oldies you quickly see that the proportions are well balanced, unharmed by todays restrictions concerning safety or ergonomics ....
These cars just seem to sit right on the road ...
... ready to attack ...
I think the oldskool wheels on both cars make them even more unique in their appearance ...

... evening falling ... Bim thinking and reflecting .... "definitely the coolest line-up for 2013" ... 3 cars in the exact same price-class, each with their own soul and character ... BUT ONE BIG SIMILARITY ....
... once behind the wheel the fun commences ....
