A. Martin Slow Runner or Lang & Heyne Friedrich III
Dear fellow AHCI purists,
Trying to make a (fun) decision between two very different pieces. Obviously the style and philosophy vary greatly between the two watches. Both speak to me for different reasons and are relatively close in price. Any insight or personal experience/feedback would be appreciated. BTW, the Slow Runner would be the black dial version, just could not locate a picture as an example. Also, I have not viewed either piece in the flesh....THANKS!

Both are very interesting pieces...but I propose a third option...
The Slow Runner speaks to me instantly - the slow beat movement is mesmerizing and it is a great looking watch. However, I am not sold on it for one reason: the inability to read the time at a quick (or even lengthy glance), which arises from the decision...

I feel the choice is terribly AM design is somewhat 'wannabe' IMHO. Dare I say even somewhat, outright unattractive.... L/H is in a league of its own. The movement alone... Good luck.
What is your decisive criterion?
With the Slow-Runner you get a modern movement with silicon escapement, 7500bph etc., but from the esthetics I find the dial incongruent. Somehow the seconds subdial doesn't fit with the rest. The Lang & Heyne esthetics just work and the movement look...
The Antoine Martin has an awkward dial
over-stating all the points it seems so desperate to make - including writing the beat rate up front on the top.. Would you really want to get the time off it? Lang & Heyne is in a different league altogether. So there can be no comparison! ;-) amerix...

As always, the feedback here is insightful and well informed. The appeal of the Braun, for me, was the concept of "slowing down time". I am at a point in my life where I find this to be in-tune with the path I wish to take. That being said I am not a fan ...

...that the L&H is the clear winner here, at least in my humble opinion! Best, Gary G
