A perfect shopping experience in Singapore
Several months ago, our great moderator Robin from Singapore contacted me and asked if he can put me in contact with the local JLC Boutique. The issue was that I missed badly the pictured watch which I ordered years ago from Paris and I never got it...
Ms. Loo, assistant manager of JLC Singapore Boutique contacted me and told that they can secure this watch for me. They did not demand for a deposit but I paid the watch in full around two months ago.
Yesterday I landed Singapore in the afternoon and arrived the hotel at around 6 pm. At 19:30 there was a car sent by JLC to pick me up to the nearby Marina Sands Boutique. When we arrived in front of the huge shopping mall, Ms. Loo was waiting for me in the front door. She wanted to organise me a rebate card in order to get an extra 3% rebate from the price paid for the watch. Then we went together to Rolex Boutique because I needed to get the bracelet of my ceramic Daytona extended. You know, it's hot in Singapore and even a pool watch needs to be looser than in the north.
When we arrived the Boutique, the VIP room, Robin, the Moderator, my watch and some delicacies were waiting. I got absolutely perfect service; very different that what I have learned to expect from JLC. It was also great to chat with Robin.
I got also interested about the offerings of JLC. They used to make one heck of a nice chronograph and the Boutique happened to have one in RG. They also said that they might get one with black dial and white metal...
I had some guest waiting for me in the hotel so I had to rush. Ms. Loo took me to the front door where their car was waiting. I will be back in the Boutique on Tuesday afternoon and very likely doing some serious shopping. I will also have a look at the Atelier Reverso - perhaps my wife would deserve her third.
On Monday I need to travel to the other side of Singapore to deliver my AP RO QP for movement change. This trip takes half a day. No coffee will be served and this will be my fourth visit around the same watches... Not even a proposal that AP would pick up the watch from my hotel. Naturally, it is my fault that I buy two non-functioning watches and naturally it is my fault the the efforts to repair the same went to hell. Guilty when accused...
I was not a client of JLC Boutique. They showed great service and hospitality. I have been a client of AP and they do not much care; "let the idiot travel" seems to be their attitude.
Robin made some miracles. Sincere thanks to him. Robin illustrated in the very finest way the spirit of PuristS.
Ada (formerly Ms. Loo) was simply great and I also thank her and JLC Singapore Boutique. You know what; from now on I'm their client. All it needs is professionalism and good customer service. I wonder how two brands with whom I have now been dealing in Singapore can be so totally different...
