Independents

A Russian beauty...

Didn't seem to get as much limelight as other recently released independents but personally feel that Anton Suhanov's latest Flamingo model deserves a shoutout.

Case size at 42mm and 11.5mm thick might be a tad large for some folks but really like the clean yet dynamic dial layout with the elegant use of rubies as a design element, as well as an eye catching and nicely decorated movement with lots of interior angles. Pricing isn't cheap (which indie with an in-house movement is these days?) but in this day and age, CHF 50k also doesn't seem entirely crazy for what you get.

A Chaykin protege, Suhanov might have previously been more known for making insanely intricate desk clocks but looks like he's also proving to be a more than capable torch bearer for Russian watchmaking. Any thoughts?
