Friends,
Some of you may kindly remember my previous post,
about finding my personal JLC 159 ( in addition to my wife's,
who has ever since finding our/her first one, kept her with joy).
E 159, my wife's pleasure in green
Had been looking for a while, and after a nice specimen was found,
I have been again very much liking this reference :
Simple, low key, but classy and with a lovely dial in black and well patinated
numbers.
My E159, black dial - Before
Only thing, that was nagging a bit, were the "empty" sword-like hands,
were the old filling had been lost, already a while ago.
Other than that all was / is correct.
So I was deliberating to either leave as is, not bad at all, BTW.
Or either getting new hands, or re-doing the hands with a matching paint,
matching the number indices.
As I got a friend's recommendation to have it done by a special watchmaker,
whom I had got to know & who also, had been taking good care of some
of my other Vintage JLC's.
Took a little while, but not too long,
and now she's back, restored to full glory.
Finally just here briefly, the Before & After,
which makes me happy ; very nice work,
really nicely matching the index numbers, and a pleasure
to look at..
E159 - Left: Before, Rt: After
New shoes, filled hands
Hope, that wasn't too boring,
as I am aware that probably as many here would have left it,
as those considering the change, also made by me.
Of course: The truth is in the eye of the Beholder !
Isn't it ?..
Cheers & Best,
hs
