Rolex

When meeting Nino Italiano, he showed me his Rolex 5508, from probably 1959 ( to be confirmed ). The dial, the case and the insert are superb. Add a very nice patina, and you have a vintage masterpiece, here. I still don't understand why they are less app...  

A good question with the prices for this one and 5512/5513. I think the answer is not so difficult. You need "Viantage watch trained eyes" and know the history. Not so many people are like you. The 5512 looks more like the new ones, so the like it more an... 

people tend to prefer more the 5513 simply because it looks more like a submariner with the crown guard and bigger crown. Just my 2 cents

I also feel that the case shape on this model may not be as appealing as some other subs, so maybe that's why

This little subtleties are what differentiates a gorgeous watch from a nice watch. Personally I find it more attractive and elegant as you said. A submariner for a gentleman. Thanks for sharing! René

I would definitely go for 5508, if i could afford one No CG GMT & Sub over those with CG, anytime anyday. and i absolutely agree with you that 5508 is more elegant than the 5512 / 13. cheers
