A visit with Maria and Richard Habring
Friday I meet up again with the owners of Habring2 who had come to Southern California for an evening reception hosted by our local Independent Watchmaker-supporting store. I joined a dozen or more watch enthusiasts from around the US for drinks, a nice meal, and lots of watch talk.
We learned the Habrings currently have two employees besides themselves; they can produce around 200 watches a year; it’s hard to keep trainees more than a few years (at least in Austria), and they love what they do — which is make watch lovers happy. We saw some new watches too — like this 5-minute repeater.

We were joined by another independent watchmaker, Keaton Myrick, who flew down from Oregon.
