A week end at Bimbeano's country...

The great thing with our Community is that the world is our house.

This Week End, Our Filip invited us in a very nice part of Belgium, just near Gand ( I will let Filiop spell it correctly, it is all about " Z ", " H ", " M "...

And so complicated to remember for a poor frenchie like me.

Anyway, this week end was a " purist Classic ".

It was written, even on one of the most famous Belgian Chocolate maker:



So, let me show you that great experience with some pictures...

1/ Gand:

This medieval town is to discover, absolutely.

After a nice lunch in a typical belgian restaurant ( chinese... ) we had a nice walk in the old part of the town, on the " Canal ":



The wives were doing some shopping, and in Gand, believe me, there are a lot of shops...



But not only... You know Vlad, when he falls on a Castle, he always want to buy it... Which was not possible anymore, after a very serious shopping session.

Hmmm, will the Count make some serious discount? Are the stones " in house "? How many jewels?



There is much more to show about Gand, but the silly thing is that the silly me just forgot the camera at Filip's house...

So, let's directly go to stage 2...

2/ Filip's house...

Imagine a house which directly comes from a fairy tale... If you can do that, then you get an idea of Filip's house.

A harbour of peace, calm, rest, dedicated to childhood, something very moving, very " cocoon ", literally adorable.

But some small hints let me think that we won't be alone, this night, and that something was on the air...





Bimb invited some of his friends, and among them, a big car collector.



Celebrating Halloween ala Belgian is always fun, and Count of Vlad excels in that... " My God! A French guy! ":



2 watchnuts fully living their passion...



A midnight bath in Filip's swimming pool, anybody???



Walking in Filip's garden reserves some surprises. Filip told me that Graham was back in England, it was not true.

Here Graham, still snoring...



And there, Filip complaining that he can't sleep:



A last evilesque cocktail for the road...



Ok, the sun will rise in a few minutes, it is time to go back into the coffin...



On the day after, some nice escapade was at the program... A trip to Knokke Le Zoute, the Belgian Saint Tropez.



3/ Damme:

Before arriving at Knokke, a short pause at Damme, a superb little town:









A Vintage wristwatch matching with a vintage decorum... It can't be better than that.



4/ Knokke Le Zoute:

" Le Chic ala Belge "...

Not my favourite place, as I was really impressed by Gand and Damme, but it has to be seen.

If you want to see some of the nicest cars, you must go there.

Wait a minute... Here is something which turned myt blood into cold... A Fall Bath in the North See!



They did it!

While I much prefer this kind of beach activities...

And for watch nuts, you can also have some shopping...



Luckily, this one was closed...



To end, let me tell you one or two more things.

- Belgium is a country to discover or re discover. There are some pure architectural and historical marvels, here.

This week end just gave me a quick feeling, a very impressive one, and I will need more than a week end to fully appreciate it.

- Bimbeano is certainly one of the craziest guy I know, which is, in my eyes, a rare quality, and a true friend, as well as his family.

Thank you so much, my friend, for all this time and for your more than warm welcome.

It was a great escape!
