AD visit, Part 2 - Tonda PF Skeleton in Platinum
Also introduced at W&W24, the all platinum Tonda PF Skeleton was in the case at the AD in Scottsdale.
I was surprised this all platinum watch and bracelet was not as heavy as I expected. Additionally, the blue open-worked dial wasn't as vibrant as I expected. In fairness, it was indoor lighting so I don't know how the color might radiate in natural outdoor light.
Cutting to the quick, at the significant premium of this piece versus the steel model (almost 2x), if I were in the market for a Tonda PF Skeleton I would be focused on the steel or gold versions.

It's the lights!
LED lighting in most stores flattens colors like that. The blue is stunning in natural lighting....same blue as the GMT Rattrapante.
I think all Tonda PF Skeletons might need to be owned to be appreciated..
They are chameleons; you have to let the light hit the hand polished angles the right way or else you only see the monochromatic-ness of the watches. The hand finishing is not in your face like others.
As much as I love PF, this model is absolutely not for me.
Skeleton dials almost never appeal to me and this one really doesn’t sing to my heart. Just my reaction of course. Thanks for sharing and have a nice weekend.

Tonda PFs with full dials look perfectly fine, in any color, with or without date. Chk

But the price is just silly compared to the others. But I do think it is the best looking skeletal they make.
Does the premium price on the platinum come with
an upgrade on the movement finish? The oscillating weight seems to be in platinum with some nicely finished spokes.
