Am I nuts ?

When I say that I would prefer the PAM360 above the PAM339 ?

When The 339 was presented at Basel I loved the watch. A cool piece, nice size (not to big because a Rad wears smaller) Nice to have an inhouse movement. It would be my first Panerai with inhouse movement. A good 8 days movement. Nice to have the words MARINA MILITARE ... AND 8 giorni on the dial !

Not black but rather brown case, a great piece together with my 292. Limited edition which is also nice to know. Still don't like the fact that it went up from 1.000 to 1.500 pce. Let us be serious and honest. We all want a rare watch. First you need to like it but when it's also a piece which will be more difficult to get it just adds something extra to the watch.

So I ordered a 339. I have a VERY good relationship with my dealer so I'm 100% sure I will get a 339. 200% !

Now the thing that drives me nuts. I don't have a Luminor and I always wanted to add one. Didn't know which piece to get. I had quite a few possibilities.

Untill they came along with that GORGEOUS 360. I must say that is by far the most beautifull Luminor I ever saw. You can compare it with some pieces made around 1993. the black Marina Militare (don't know the reference number exactly).

And that could be a problem :-( getting one of these will be VERY, VERY, VERY difficult. Could be more difficult than the 203. I hear you thinking ... more difficult than the 203 ? There were only 150 PAM203 while there are 300 PAM360. I know but look at the price difference !! The 203 was 3.5 times more expensive than the 360 . So I'm sure the demand for the 360 will be much bigger than the demand was for the 203. Almost EVERYBODY who likes Panerai and has Panerai can afford a 360. It is the same price as a simple Panerai. The 203 on the other hand was a piece that a lot of people wanted but also a lot of them couldn't afford.

So, I can get a 339 and I am VERY happy with it but I would be more happy with the 360, is that crazy ??

getting them both would ofcourse be superb ! In that case the only problem would be 'getting enough money'

if you cen only get the 339 (through your connections) and can't afford both, if you were me you'll get the 339 and after a "spin" I'm sure you'll find someone that will trade it for a 360.... Cheers... Sergio

Had the opportunity to try on the 339 recently at the boutique... I think the new watches are on tour for awhile... but I have to say that I found it way to light. Didn't seem to have the weight/feel that it should so thankfully I have resisted it's siren...
