Amvox 7 finally back!
I bought this watch back in December, but I found that the automatic winding was not doing its job. I was able to negotiate a rebate with the seller to nearly cover the cost of service and sent it to the Texas JLC service center. It was originally anticipated to be finished in early March, but there was a delay getting a replacement crown. Then another delay for a needed screw. Oh the sweet pain of delayed gratification.
I just received it back and it appears perfect! The power reserve arches are filling up, and all functions appear to be working flawlessly.
The Amvox 7 is such a cool evolution of the Amvox 2. I like the how the power reserve utilizes the top of the dial, where the original was empty. I also like the subtle operation hand hidden below the dial above the newly centered date. The updated crown is much easier to manipulate, and the strap replacement system is genius.
My only gripe is that in bright sunlight, the hands can be a bit lost in the similarly finished dial.
