Another passing: Mick Ralphs . . .

. . . of Bad Company and Mott the Hoople fame left us two weeks ago. Just heard the news now.
Most of the regulars here know Charlie Watts is an idol of mine. How he played ever so tastefully without drawing attention to himself was the stuff of legend. Ralphs was almost the same level of player as Watts . . . as tasteful as he was talented, and never trying to be the center of attention.
He was debilitated by a stroke nine years ago, spent the last years of his life in decline. He will live on thru his contributions to rock 'n roll.
I've long said there are three bands whose music can be played on the jukebox in any bar any time: Creedence, AC/DC, and Bad Company.
RIP, Mick.
