Anyone a Fabre Leuba expert?
Does anyone know about the Favre Leuba Twin Matic (cal. 269) watches? They only show up for sale on occasion. The movements are the automatic version of the common Favre Leuba 253, the double barrel handwind movement with full balance bridge. All of them say Duomatic on the movement. About a month ago someone sniped the final bid on this one I was after... it looked in mint shape, and I love the blue-grey dial colour - reminds me of a sun-bleached Rolex bezel colour. Is anyone familiar with the movement at all? Is the auto winding mechanism the same as the joint JLC-GP-FL-Zodiac one that was out in the 60s/70s? Also, does anyone have ideas for a good place to look for one of these?
Anyway, here was the one I missed out on

I have a number of old Favre Leuba watches, but later movements than you seek cal 11xx series. I assume you are aware of the pitfalls of Indian sourced redials or watches whose movements have been corroded in humid climates, even with original dials. I ha...
