Or to give it its full name: the ‘Seiko SCED031 Spirit Smart ‘Bishop’ Re-issue On Time Limited Giugiaro Quartz Chronograph’ - for possibly one of the longest model names in watch history 😁
This morning I was attempting to do what the watch maker failed at yesterday - namely shorten the bracelet. I failed just like he did - he broke his tool, I figured I better let a professional handle it (as opposed to me damaging the bracelet). And haven’t found a matching strap - to do the watch justice you would need to emulate the bracelet shape, so a custom strap is a must. And while the lug width is 18mm, the attachment points are so close to the case most straps won’t fit (a tad too thick at the attachment point).
So, a slightly loose fit for the moment but comfortable irrespective. And while I will probably not wear it on a daily basis it’s a nice design exercise and I am glad to have it in the watch box.
Anyone else enjoying a quartz on occasion?

The bracelet is ceramic or DLC coated steel? I was curious how the watch maker broke a tool on that, unless perhaps they are sensitive tools for ceramic pieces.

But I am not sure he knew exactly how to approach it. Nothing a YouTube video wouldn’t have told him about it but it was a busy period and not sure he’s encountered this watch ever before (hardly anyone in Europe would have) 😉

The case appears to sit up high on the bracelet or is that an optical illusion ?

It’s flush with the lower part of the case but the raised part (same thickness as the rotating bezel) raises it above that… let me see if I can take a better picture of that…
Some years ago the Alien watches (Seiko & Giugiaro design Genf the originals, too) came out…
This one was a JDM only model together with On Time. Makes for a fun quartz watch, actually and I really like the Giugiaro design touches. Has a comparable feel to the Lip Mach 2000 series 😊👍🏻
