At long last...the DB25 is back with me!!

After what I believe could qualify for the Guinness World record for lengthiest service, at last this beauty is back with me!! And I am happpppy!!

As in Shakespeare's play, All's Well That Ends Well! I do love blue hands...

And finally, with some John Lobb down there on the background...

This is the only "newer" De Bethune in my collection (the only one I could afford!) and it joins its more classical brothers (the two DB12 and the DB8 that I have shown in other occasions). Like them, it bears a very classical style while breaking the mould in many ways. The newer-newer DB's I am afraid are not my cup of tea (which is good, since as I say my wallet could not bear them).

My only dream now missing would be a DB15 with its wonderful perpetual calendar. Maybe one day... Perhaps also when the medical community has found a cure for short-sigth

I should have made some photos of the back, but these I took this morning before going to the office... I really needed to share this! I promise some more photos in the future.

Curious to know how long the service took. I had a friends Patek been in for 8months and more recently my AP is expecting a min 16-week service time.

...about who had to pay for the service (me or him). It was a NOS which clearly needed re-oiling of the machinery but the seller was resistant to admit it in the beginning. Eventually he did, but it cost me a few months... All's Well That Ends Well :)
