Back on the streets and sand
Hi guys, after a couple weeks tending to business and travel, we are back out on the streets.
While the rest of the Northern Hemisphere might be preparing for Fall, San Diego is tackling the change of seasons in its usual way (not much change). It was such a nice morning that we went back to Mission Bay.

I couldn't resist framing the photo looking west through this yucca bloom.

In the distance I could see a rowing shell.

Here it is, with full reach of the lens.

There's a nice path along the shore but it's a bit narrow for the walkers, cyclists, skaters, dogs and what have you.

By that I mean giant trash trucks that can barely squeeze past / onto the sidewalk
and the illicit campers and their tents!
Out on the water there are no such worries. The only concern is "where are the fish?"

The water is perfectly flat. Perfect for fishing, paddling

and water skiing. I can see St George Serbian Orthodox church on the hill in the distance.

We watch the trash man grab the cans "on the roll" and drop them back to the sand.

Approaching the residential neighborhood, we turn west again.
where we find an uncharacteristically neat and pattern-loving street.

Each yard had a different pattern to contribute.

Then wham! We reach the "Main Drag" and brilliant murals on the liquor store.

After we cross back into neighborhoods, slightly more eccentric patterns and colors emerge in the yards we pass.

Until we find ourselves at the water's edge again.

My wife asks if we should take up skating, and we exchange stories of broken bones, bruises and other injuries we have each suffered while on skates.
I'm happy just walking along the shore.
