Last year, Mr. Pfeifer, the charismatic former boss of Glash?tte Original, retrieved a dial from his pocket, and allowed us a first glimpse on what GO will present tomorrow at the Basel fair: A chronograph, with a fully integrated, selfwinding movement, featuring panorama date, flyback and a 30 minutes-counter. The absolutely unique and stunning feature, however, was its design: Following the Pano-series, the chronograph had a small, off-center time display at 6 o'clock. Unlike the PanoGraph, the chronograph second hand had its own dial, about the same size of the main hour/minutes dial. Instead of simply intersecting it, the chrono scale was set atop the dial, as a ring on an upper layer, with the hour and minutes hands passing underneath. Sounds weird? Maybe, but believe me, it looked absolutely stunning!
Aside from the unconventional design, the movement features a lot of interesting goodies, such as two mainspring barrels, which deliver different torque ratios.
When I return from the fair, next week, I can tell you more, and will of course post some pics!
Best regards,
Marcus
