There has been so much discussion about the 5970P and the 5070P in recent weeks that I thought it useful to put the two together. The 5970? Over-hyped. The 5070P? Movement too small for the case? Well, here are the two together.
There is no question that these two watches are blood brothers. Very different in their own ways, but closely related all the same. It will be fascinating to see how the Nouvelle Lamania movement gets replaced.
In terms of the comments they have received....well, i always think that extreme emotion in either direction is always better than blandness. To me, these two watches represent my favourite two PPs. The 5070P, in particular, just has an aura for me. I can only say that if they are not to someone else's taste, then each to their own. To me, they shine!

5970 and 5070 certainly two of the most desirable Patek references ever. And I would tend to agree with you--I think the 5070P in particular is my very favorite Patek.

Reminds me of Jimi Hendrix. Patek told me that there is only one version of the moonphase and the say it's dark blue. Very dark blue to me...
