Buying Pre-Owned Watches
I have several vintage watches and had no problem buying them. Always been a little gun shy when it comes to buying a pre-owned modern watch. I guess I'm afraid it has been worn hard and abused even thought the case may look good it's what's inside that has me concerned. I do see plenty of reputable sellers here, but there's always a chance the watch is not what it seems. I would buy a watch from myself since i know EXACTLY
how they have been treated and worn. I'm over the top anal about my watches and baby them more than I should. Don't get me wrong, I wear them but am just real careful. Mostly I wear them to the office and take them off for the evening unless we are going somewhere later. I wear one whenever I leave the house and feel naked without one unless I'm going to the gym or will be doing some other very physical activity. I have a friend who is also a the manager of a jewelry store that is also a Rolex AD comment that he can't believe my watches (all brands) are in such good shape and don't even look worn. I know, dings give them personality. I used the term
"gun shy" because I got burned on a used gun once and fear the same when it comes to watches.
