Chopard Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Tribute to Sir Stirling Moss . . .

Chopard unveiled this latest Mille Miglia to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Sir Stirling Moss’s victory at the 1955 Mille Miglia:

Paired with a brown perforated calfskin calk, we’re looking at a 40.5mm Lucent Steel case with a thickness of 12.88mm. The lug-to-lug length is 48.17mm.

The silvery opaline dial takes inspiration from Sir Moss’s Mercedes-Benz 300SLR:

The minute scale uses red fonts while the tachymeter uses blue fonts. The tip of the central seconds counter is also red.

She’s brought to life by the chronometer-certified ETA A322-11 automatic movement. The sapphire crystal is engraved with a checkered flag intertwined with the British Union Jack.

This LE piece retails for CHF 9,750 ($11,855 USD). Really loving the design and presence of this one - but as with so many brands lately, the increasingly exorbitant pricing is tough to swallow. It’s getting harder to justify, especially with an ETA movement.
