Continuing the Seiko diver theme....
On the wrist today is a 6306 (6306-704L T is the precise text under the 6 marker) with a “Suwa dial” (indicating the watch was made in the Seiko Suwa factory in Japan). I think this text was seen only on the “Suwa dials” but I’m not certain.
This reference replaced the 6105 I posted the other day with production starting in 1976.
Another cool Seiko in my opinion and a enduring design that’s lasted just as well as the Royal Oak or Nautilus which launched just a few years before and the same year respectively.

The outer dials don't have the mark but the sealed inner one does. Maybe replacement dials came from Suwa? The faded one on the right might be an aftermarket dial, as it has no markings at the bottom. Mike ...
You might be right, it seems pretty standard for these to have markings on the dials. It's the same for all my Seiko's from that period.
I think the Suwa dials were standard on the Japanese domestic market watches (the ref 6306) which was only in existence for maybe 4 years based on what I've read (76-80). [This could be incorrect, if someone knows please correct me]. By contrast the 6309 ...

The dial I assume says "Movement and Dial Japan Cased Hong Kong" at the bottom, it looks like that could be the case from your picture but hard to read.

I had the local Seiko AD replace the strap and insert. He couldn't find an insert from Seiko so I ended up buying one online.
