Dad’s watch, Rolex datejust 36 mm
Dear watch purist,
It has been a long time since my last post. The main reason was i went back and forth on different watch potential purchase and could not make up my mind.
End of 2025 my mum decided to part ways with the Rolex of my deceased father (he died when i was 19 years old) as it was not appealing to her taste and was at the same time looking for a watch as replacement. She of course asked me if it was ok with me to let go a time piece that had so much memory ? I wear a41mm daily and thought 36 mm was as woman size nowadays especially with my 19,5 cm wrist…
She took the watch out of the safe, i added the two links and put it on my wrist and the magic happened !!!!!
The 36mm is fine and the proportions are exquisite, guess what: that beauty has been sitting on my wrist since Déc 2025 and will stay within the family.
I do remember mi padre being so proud of that Rolie bought after he got diagnosed cancer.
That watch has litteraly fullfil something in me, and guys 36mm is the way to go !
