Dream Watch Two
Created from silicon, platinum, titanium and the minutest amount of steel, De Bethune has created a new tourbillon weighing less than 0.18 grams. A tourbillon, having no cage or traditional pillars, but a unique armature holding the silicon balance of Dream Watch Two.
This new Silicon tourbillon was created specially to test the performance of the temperature-compensated silicon balance launched in 2006. This balance consists of an escape wheel made of silicon and a silicon balance spring with flat terminal curve; today it is presented with a tourbillon which has nothing in common with a traditional tourbillon.
First of all its construction is different, since the traditional pillars of the tourbillon, are so heavy and cumbersome, have been given up and replaced by a U and S structure.
Then it differs in its weight: the lightest part weighs less than 0.0001 grams and the heaviest 0.0276 grams. By comparison, in the traditional tourbillon, the lightest part weighs 0.0170 grams and the heaviest 0.1150 grams.
With a total of 53 component parts, the majority of which have been shaped by nanotechnology and high-speed 5-axis machining. This magnificent architectural tourbillon is housed in a platinum case with floating lugs. The movement also features: a minute repeater on bell, a perpetual calendar with leap year indicator, the patented Three-dimensional moon created from platinum and steel blued by flame, and more than 5 days power reserve.
