Dennison case on 1958 Omega Seamaster
Hi all
just bought a vintage Omega Seasmaster automatic Cal 501, from 1958 (16 million serial number and hallmarked inside the AL Dennison 18K gold case with Birmingham, J mark).
But I'm stumped........
The case number inside the watch bears no resemblance to those on the Omega Vintage resource internet site - this one reads 897914
Is there any way these numbers relate to the Omega case back numbers or is there a table of Dennison numbers which refers to the Omega case numbers somewhere please?
Grateful for any help here, or any ideas about which Omega case this actually is

The movement is absolutely pristine - I can only see 2 sevice marks in 53 years - and its only losing 2s per day currently

Omega have case ref's as you obviously know, but Dennison just have case numbers and i dont know of any list showing when they were made, apart from the all important assay mark which shows catagorically when the case was made. its a nice looking watch, t...

Andrew, i've just checked my dennison cased Omega and all have the same theme with ref numbers. if you take the 5 out of the ref number you get an omega ref number ie 168(5).004 so my theory is that Dennison added a 5 to differentiate between their cases ...
