Omega

My Seamaster

Hi again Paul,

I've dug out some photos of my Seamaster - I sold it on last year to finance the 18kt Connie so there's no regrets really (well there is but you can't keep them all).  As I said before, my Seamaster was a 9kt Dennison cased example hallmarked 1963 but with a movement of 18.2 million which would suggest it was produced around 2 years earlier - I don't think this discrepency is uncommon however.

As you can see, it has Seamaster on the dial and a smooth back.  You may just be able to make out the writing on the inner caseback - here there are two numbers - the Dennison ref 241059 and the other 'Omega-like' ref of 1655410 - the nearest I can find to this shape of case on the Omega vintage database is 165.0003 - this has the same movement and was made by Omega between 1962 and 1969.  So the '5' theory doesn't always work but I wish I knew the connection.

Let me know if you discover anything new on this as I'm always interested.

Cheers
