To all of our members here. Just wanted to say that I had a wonderful dinner tonight and a great chat with Thierry Stern. If you have met him you know that he is a man with some pretty solid values, if you have not met him...you should. So for the last 5 1/2 hours I had the pleasure of sitting next to the man that now runs one of the biggest family owned watch companies in the world.
That is not the story. What is the story is he is a guy you can talk to...about the weather, about your kids, about his kids...and oh yeah about the watch industry. Just so you know...the ads are not BS...Patek is really about family values and they are about making great watches. I probably should not write about how great they are, because if they read this they may raise their prices, but they really are a great company. I can speak about the people, other than Thierry, that make up this company. And there in is the story. Every one of the Patek people were awesome tonight. Tonight was not about buying watches, they did have some museum pieces and they did have current pieces, but that was not the focus. It was a celebration of people getting together to have a nice dinner, with nice wines, and nice friends. And these people are your friends.
Tonight there was Lisa, Matt, Kelly, Kelly,Samantha, and Laurent, from the New York office, two other people from Geneva(I am sorry but I did not meet them or catch their names) and last but not least Larry(from New York) and Thierry(from Geneva). This was the "A" team and it showed. So appropriate, since the San Francisco Giants won the World Series, who else could Patek send to San Francisco but their best.
So, did my wife and I have a great time...YES. And I am happy for everyone that was able to attend this wonderful event tonight. Some names were left out to protect my contacts.
Hope you enjoyed my little recap.
All the best,
Rick Bocci
