End of the Road Trip

We traveled 1275 miles in one week. At various times, the Jaguar held from 1-5 people, 0-24 bottles of wine, and consumed 53 gallons of gas (average 24 miles per gallon).

The trip home was a fast one, averaging 68 mph over 525 miles, including two brief relief stops -- at one we took on more fuel as well. Only 7 1/2 hours from Napa to San Diego.

We tasted more than 25 varieties of wine and consumed (between my wife and myself) about 8 bottles. Our family reunion went well enough - few tears, not much shouting, no fisticuffs and lots of hugs at the end. My aunt celebrated her 90th birthday and her brother, my uncle, reached 80.

Dave was wearing his father's Omega, now about 70 years old and still running acceptably well. He's the author of the book Gas Stop which I profiled about 6 months ago (HERE or HERE)
