Horological Meandering

Picture is worth a thousand words I went last sunday to a local AD boutique and tried several Omega's None of them took my breath away. I also saw the Breitling LE (the rainbow is not my cup of tea either). Now the question How can any designer explain me...  

The Omega uses Grade 2 Titanium for the case and titanium mesh bracelet.

But I know I'm too demanding 😎

You would buy a watch with the manual 321 movement. ;-))

But to my mind, the Breitling bracelet is more in keeping with the history of the brand and their current aesthetic. The Omega bracelet is a tribute to be sure, but not to anything specifically related to the company. Or at least it does not recall Omega ... 

Omega has a history of producing professional diving watches since the 60’s with mesh or shark mesh bracelets. ...

Just re: the Breitling... the dial is iconic and fantastic... I gotta figure out what bracelet, strap, perhaps evolution of case makes sense to me... but this dial is historically exciting... I do not like presentation... bezel is too wide.. too shiny... ... 

As someone who likes mesh bracelets, the main problem with the breitling design is that the watch cannot sit flat on its caseback due to the end link design. Not a great pic but see for yourself: It removes a lot of what makes a mesh strap attractive in m...
