Hi,
I have in my possession a 14ct wrist watch which belonged to my father marked 'Ancre Breguet'. I know nothing about this watch but here is a brief description; the case is plain gold with solid strap bars. The face is white enamel with black Arabic numerals except for the '12' in blue. There is a seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position.
Inside the hinged back (as is the front) there is a patent number 15064 on the movement, along with a decoratively engraved area adjacent to the 'advance/retard' lever and, apart from the hallmarks, hand-scribed dates which I assume are service dates; the earliest is 1931.
The watch is in poor condition; the enamel is cracked and chipped around the edges, the second hand is bent and the hour hand has, somehow, broken in two.
I would be extremely grateful for any information about this watch-date of manufacture, estimated cost of restoration and, indeed, if it is even worth restoring.
I am obviously clueless about Breguet watches but I am aware they are held in high regard.
Thanks in advance,
Andrew
