Horological Meandering

Favre Leuba Bathy V2.

Who does remember this watch?

Unveiled circa 2008, it was a conversation piece, at that time.

To be more precise, it was the re interpretation of a mythic watch, the Favre Leuba Bathy 50 which is sought after by many vintage collectors, born in 1966.

The vintage, the original:

The common point between these 2? The mechanical depth gauge.

While the original was 40 mm big, the re interpretation is a totally different beast, with its 46 mm big, 18 mm high titanium grade 5 case, water resistant to 300 meters.

The retail was a bit ambitious, for the new one, which may explain that it didn't have the success it deserved, though.

Best,

Nicolas
