Finishing & Decoration
For Seiko forum readers (and others who stumble upon this) Nicolas has posted a fantastic analysis of movement finishing and decoration .
The first has to do with quality and performance, the second to do with appeal and beauty.
First you might just compare these Spring Drive movements in my Snow Flake and Credor Moon (and a web-review Galante)
Same movements, same price, same age, but different decoration.
I'm not sure about the performance - since its a 9R series in the Grand Seiko, and 5R series in the others.
Please forgive the magnified dirt!
Cheers,
Cazalea
Here's a comparable movement used in the Galante, Seiko's wacky over-styled brand (pictures from Timeless Luxury; edited by me)
